Tony,
I would agree with you to an extent but living here in San Antonio, Texas
air conditioning is welcomed on just about anything. While a convertible is
great, (in the early mornings and late evenings) when the sun is not
scorching the interior and burning your flesh to a crisp. Nevertheless,
since my b is a daily driver and often sees many hours a week sitting in
traffic it would be great to just put the top up and turn on the air while
waiting in traffic rather than sweating to death in the blazing heat. With
that said I would not even consider the idea if I lived in an area where the
climate was a little more hospitable during the majority of the year.
However, here we have two types of weather HOT and HOTTER.
