I took my 72B for another cruise today (about 5 miles) and the overheating
problem is fixed. This was where the gauge indicated the car was running
just an 1/8" shy of "H" even though a removal of the radiator cap and
minimal steam told me that water temps were 180-190 degrees at most.

A few people had indicated the voltage stabilizer. Admittedly, I have never
had to deal with this little part before, but one lister described it well
enough for me to know that that was the part that I had wired in the new
harness but had not mounted yet (it was just dangling). So I mounted it,
making sure it was grounded to the body good.

Now temps ran a bit shy of the middle "N" and the gas gauge showed a 1/4
tank of fuel instead of a 1/2 tank. As it should.

Oil pressure was also good. Although it was almost 100 psi cold, it settled
to 80 psi for most of the drive but after the engine was warmed up, it
dropped way down when RPMs were decreased, at idling to 10-20 psi.
Technically within acceptable parameters but still leaving me a bit
paranoid with this new engine rebuild. My other engines typically idled at
40 psi and never dropped below 50 psi if RPMs dropped in the low 20s. But
this time, I'm using the heavy duty racing spring too.

Handling was still a bit awkward but I have completely redone the front end
and the alignment was set with a front end alignment tool (big ruler) that
I got from Moss. But the car is almost ready to go. A full restoration that
is maybe close to 90% done but it seems like the closer I get, the slower I
am on getting stuff done.
