testing brake servo (1978 MGB)

Seeking advice re: testing the brake servo (power booster) on a 1978
MGB.

While the engine is out & various bits are at the machinist, I want to
rebuild the brake system. So, I am seeking advice about how to test
for proper functioning of the servo unit (sans running motor).
