carb adjustment-solved

Thanks to all who've baby'ed me along on this.
The rear carb float was not working, causing the float chamber to be dry.
This evidently was what caused the front carb to rev so high when the UniSyn
was placed over the air intake.
I'll adjust everything tomorrow.
Going to bed a happy camper.
