Monte,
I have seen the choke connection hooked backwards on two different cars
(one one, it actually worked quite well).
Anyway, the choke lever pulls up, causing the jets to be pulled down. I
made a quick page for someone a few months ago on the linkages - the choke
being down the page a bit. Hopefully, it will be helpful.
