Based on your responses, I will do, or have done, the following:
Purchase buffing wheel to see what I can salvage of the old stuff. I
think I can save a lot. Most is in good condition.
Purchase new some of the small items.
Replate the bumpers, and the things I can't buy or buff.
Contact the alternate plating shops to which you have pointed me.
Look into the Caswell home plating kits. http://www.caswellplating.com/
Thank you all again very much. Once again, the collective wisdom of the
list comes through, and I have learned a lot -- especially about the
buffing wheels. I have high hopes for that. We will see.
