Find a better paint store !!!!! When I had my MGB painted about 7 years ago.
I wanted
Tartan Red (I had the PPG/Ditzler and original paint code). When I went to
pick the
car up, I was shocked. The painter said that nobody could match the codes I
gave
him, and the paint shop had no listing for Tartan Red. He painted the car in
some GM
color which is close to Porsche Guards Red.
I went to a good paint supplier and found the paint in less than 5 minutes.
I bought a pint
and it was not even close to Guards Red !!!! Sometime next year or two -
I'll repaint the
car in Tartan red.
So..... find a good paint shop. If you have the original paint code, a
Ditzler, PPG paint code,
they should be able to get a match. BTW I just bought 2.5 quarts of paint
and reducer and
hardener plus other sundries for $99 this past weekend.
