I had same problem.
I pounded the threaded part until it had deformed enough to fill the hole,
then I filed it flush, center punched the centre of the blob, and drilled
with a 1/4" drill until I could just feel the drill catching on the fulcrum
pin itself. Changed to a 5/32" drill, and drilled past the flat on the
fulcrum pin almost all the way through to the other end of the cotter pin.
Then drove the whole thing out with a 5/32" pin punch.
Pretty well essential to have properly sharpened drills.
