I had a 4-synchro OD conversion done by Doug Jackson himself. The
cosmetics of it are rather simple. There is no "bashing". The opening
for the shifter in the transmission tunnel has to be extended backward
to accommodate the taller and longer tranny. With requires some
cutting. The cover is fiberglass and the same shape as the original
cover. It just extends backward a couple of inches. I even had the
original teardrop shifter re-tapped so that it would fit on the new
stalk. We put a "shepherd's crook" OD switch on the dash where the
original would be. All in all it's a very neat installation. And it's
so close to the original very few people would notice the different.
That's my two cents. By the way, I have no connection with British
Automotive. I'm just a satisfied customer.
