Years ago I heard the guys on "Cah Talk" on NPR tell a story
about a Cuban mechanic they hired to work in their garage.
One of the brothers was shocked to walk onto the floor and
see the guy meticulously rebuilding a windshield wiper motor.
He was *making* new brushes for it! "No, no, no!" he
admonished the employee, "You don't *fix* those, you *throw
them away*!" The new employee was also shocked. Why would
you throw away something that you can, in the course of a
day or two, repair?
