I think you're barking up the wrong tree, Rick. I would bet it's a
deliberate decision by MG management. Remember, they are a fledging
organization with shaky finances -- can you imagine how much it would cost
to set up an entire US distribution network? Think of how much just the
advertising campaign for the new Mini cost (my guess would be $50-80
million).
I would look at this as a positive development -- "testing the North
American waters" with a smaller financial risk.
