Lane,
Yes you can use 14 x 5.5 you can get Dunlops or Daytons for them in either
painted or chrome. If you get 60 or 72 spoke in Daytons you can get tubeless
in most cases which I love. I prefer the Daytons myself regardless.
As far as using 15" you can do that too, the MGC had 15 inch and I have them
on my '71 MGB though every once in a while I do bottom out with them. I have
72 spoke chrome tubeless Daytons. It really does not throw the speedo off
too much.
