The cross flow manifold for the V8 should work much better.  Problem with 
the Lambo setup is that the intake runners are too short for optimum air 
ramming effect.  Same thing happens when installing a side draft carb on 
the MG.

Most new cars have intake runs at least a foot long.  I think the optimum 
is about 16" for a naturally aspirated street engine, and about 12" for a 
high speed race engine, measuring runner distance from the tip of the 
intake horn to the seat of the intake valve.  Some relatively new cars have 
intake manifolds that are true works of art, possible candidates for a 
philharmonic orchestra.
