Seems to be just another variant - workaround for the design pitfall.
Once you get to live with these and keep thinking it's a 60's design, I do
not complain,
but one gets very spoiled with all gatgedts in the modern cars.
My company gave me an Audi A6 with so many extra's I discover for weeks new
things - and how the car drives - very comfy, but my MGB GT "lives"! Where
the Audi is overdone...
