Y'know, we've been around all sorts of possible solutions to this problem.  
What is needed is to start with the simple stuff and progress thru all the 
suggestions.  I suggest the little ground wire on the point plate.  I've seen 
these held on by a single thread, and it can cause that exact running 
condition.

So, start somewhere, and check all the simple stuff.  That is what you own an 
LBC for, isn't it?  He77, if nothing ever broke, what would you do with your 
free time?!?!?
