Mike, the passenger's-side rear on my '65 B project car has the same
symptoms and I assume the shock is shot. If I lift up that side of the car
it will stay 'lifted' - but any pressure on it causes it to fall back down
to the lower hieght. Can't say about the creaking, though, as it doesn't
run - yet.
