with 10w30 I see 60 cold, 25-30 idling warm and 50 running with the original
stock pump and a new Moss pressure spring. I checked my pump clearances
last year (spun a bearing) and they are still on the low side of spec.
About the bearing, I hit a pothole at speed so hard that I lost 20lbs oil
pressure. I opened up the pan to replace the pump and found that the
locating tab had broken off of the #1 rod bearing and it had spun and
pulverized itself. No audible damage and all journals still to spec but the
pan was full of bearing parts. I think I looked just before it was going to
start knocking, since there wasn't a whole lot of bearing left intact.
Anyways, your pressures don't seem out of line. The running pressure seems
maybe a bit low, but nothing to worry about. I have a hard time, because in
my mind I keep hearing the 10# per 1k rpm rule, but I guess that is just for
big American V8s.

about 65 when the we first start up but it drops down to about 35-45 when
running. At idle after warmup I'm seeing about 20. Should I be alarmed? By
the way I use 20w50.
