I just love the era when you had to know something about
a car to drive it. Here's my soap-box speech, as you comment
reminded me of it:
I think cars are TOO EASY to drive today. You don't
have to even know that you are driving -- and many people
don't! I heard it put very well once regarding the a new
Corvette, versus my older Ferrari. It went something like
this.
"With the Corvette, you can go into the turn at 100+mph,
sip your Latte and answer your cell phone and probably
come out of it just fine.
Get in the Ferrari and it immediately says, "I'm going to
kill you!"
I like that. We SHOULD be afraid of 3000 pounds of
iron hurtling along at frightening speeds. Driving should
not be 'too easy'. It is serious business -- and a greatly
enjoyable business!
