How's the oil pressure? We need to make certain this isn't the rod
bearings.
Since it quiets down when warm, I suspect it's not bearings.
If it's a sewing machine clicking rather than a knock or thump, it
might be valve clearances. I'll happily advise how to adjust these,
but probably should do it off-list. Might be a very good idea to
have an LBC expert have a listen to it. There should be some of
these near you who will volunteer.
