Some things I forgot:

If the noise goes away when the belt is off, you have to determine which
accessory is causing the problem..If you have a mechanic's stethescope, you
can use it.  If n ot, take a very long screwdrive, prybar, etc, and put it on
the suspect accessory, and your ear on the other end.  Start the car, and move
the tool to the various parts, you will hear the troublemaker.
