Are you sure? I thought the O series was used extensively in Rover 820 and
other cars. In twin-cam form, in the Rovers it was impressive (the Rover 820
was the European, smaller-engined brother of the Sterling, which I think was
never fitted with anything less than 2.7L, although just to confuse the
naming even more, in the UK, the top model of the Rover 8xx series was
called the "Rover Sterling" ).
I also seem to recall reading about someone who fitted an O-series in an
MGB.
