I got the opportunity to take this MkIV Sprite racer around our local track:

And how did it drive? Well, once you get used to the buffeting (wear a
full-face helmet) it is a huge buzz. This thing was a FAST machine and
on slicks. I was told that it was rev limited to 8000 revs but I never
took it over 6500. It wasn't my car so I was a little nervous with it,
but it would have to have been some of the most fun laps I have ever done.
I would love to do something similar to *my* little car, but I am not
sure if I can really afford to have a purpose-built racer at this time.
Boy was it fun! (oh yeah... it did a gearbox in a little later in the
day, but it wasn't *my* fault... really :-)
