I live in Denmark and have just bought a 69 MGB roadster (out of
California) which has been sitting for a couple of years..
the engine turns fine but when the key is turned on the fuel pump
doesn't do the normal click-click-click up to full pressure and
then stop..
instead it just keeps pumping/clicking..
taking off the air cleaner on the HIF4s, you can look through the
air intake opening and see fuel building up inside carb throat..
i can't quite figure out how the fuel lines should run; now there
is a single line from the fuel pump that feeds into the left side
of the left carb, and then there is this long (maybe 18 inches
long) looping line that runs from the left side of the left carb to
the right side of the right carb..
and, there is a short line running between the two carbs, from the
right side of the left carb to the left side of the right carb..
but there is no overflow or return to the fuel pump or tank
line--is that the way it is supposed to be?--or, what might be
wrong to allow the carb to fill up with fuel?
thanks for your help..
Lasse
