Welcome!
I have a '78, and run it on regular unleaded, and assume the '77 is no
different (at least anything post-'76 emissions should be the same). If
you get any knocking or anything you could either tune it or try a higher
octane, but I usually just run on regular.
I'm sure others will have a list of things, my big concern is always rust
(I live in New England), particularly watch for the crack-o'doom near the
driver mirror, and just rust in general. I'd rather pay more for a
rust-free car than inherit something with rust problems.
