mgb windshield frame restoration

I appreciate all the helpful responses to my endless questions on restoration.
My next question is - what finishes have been successfully used on MGB 
aluminum winscreen frames?  I have mine apart and I'd like to polish and 
powdercoat but maybe it should be anodized?  I dont think acrylic spray would 
last in real usage, would it?
