I can't believe you called the MG gearbox a "slop box".. you must have had
the worst example in the world. Long throws? (have you ever driven a front
wheel drive?) Your description sounds like you were driving a completely
different car. I don't know where you get your standards (open wheel race
cars?), but there are hundreds of thousands of people who manage to "have
fun" with the standard transmissions.

Nothing personal -- I'm glad you're happy with the results of your
investment -- but I can't help but think it was unnecessary.
