My (standard engine & carb) 70 starts easily with 5 secs fuel pump before
ignition, full choke, no throttle.
The engine will idle smoothly without choke almost immedietely after (as
soon as the oil pressure goes up).
Though it does have a rough spot somewhere between 1000-2000 RPM until it
warms up.

It counts days, though.
Drove it yesterday - starts on 1st crank.
Let it sit for a week - cranks 7 times before starting.
The solution? Drive every day!
