  The spacer goes in FRONT of the fan on my application.  The fan is
clamped between the spacer & the pump.  Look at the Moss cat.  I've seen
the spacer between the pump & the (metal) fan when the short pump is
used.  Easier for me to use another metal fan & keep an eye on it.
