I have to agree with Barney on the Pretty Park virus. I received an e-mail
from one of my regular customers who sends attachments regularly and when I
opened it and didn't see anything, I called her and she let me know that she
had been notifying everyone in her address book about the virus. It is
pretty easy for someone who is computer literate to remove, but could be a
bit rough for some people. First you have to remove something from your
registry and then reboot and delete the program that causes the problem and
also changes it's name. I was able to take care of mine right away, but
ended up fixing my customers via modem a couple of days later as she didn't
quite understand the directions on how to get rid of it. If you are worried
about this virus look it up under "Pretty Park" on the McCaffey (sp?) or
Semantic (Norton) site and it explains what it does and how to get rid of
it.
