There are some really decent and effective high-temp manifold paints
available from both Hirsch and Eastwood. When I re-did my Healey, which is
supposed to have the manifolds painted engine color, I first painted them
with Hirsch high-temp silver and ran them hot to cure the paint, as per
instructions, then painted them over with the green. Eight years and 20,000
miles later, the manifolds are still painted, and look silver with a tinge of
copper/green.
