Could be a worn fork, as others mentioned. OR it could be worn out thrust
washers
or shims. I know the three synchro trans better than the 4, but there are
thrust
washers on the layshaft (both ends), on the trans input shaft, and (at lest on
the 3
synchro) between 3rd an I can't remember which, but I think it was second. all
are
easy enough to check with either plastigauge or a feeler gauge.
