Classic MG Magazine is not affiliated in any way with MG Magazine which has
ceased production and sold its assets to MG World magazine, a U.K.
publication.
Classic MG Magazine is being produced by Grand Prix Graphics which now
produces Healey Marque Magazine for the Austin-Healey Club of America,
Jaguar Journal for the Jaguar Clubs of North America, and has begun
producing the Vintage Triumph for the Triumph Register. Grand Prix Graphics
has been in business for over eleven years and has gained an excellent
reputation for reliability and cost effectiveness based on a solid
background in printing and publishing.
Classic MG Magazine is being created to address the North American need
created by the recent problems that led to the demise of MG Magazine. Our
involvement in the British collector car scene identified an opportunity to
address the lack of a professionally produced magazine that focuses on the
North American MG enthusiast's love of the classic T Series, A, B, C and
other MG marques. Editorial content will focus on North American MG
enthusiasts and the numerous MG clubs that support our hobby. Led by Dick
Lunney and Ken Smith, they have over 25 years of combined British motorcar
editorial experience. Technical and historic contributors have been lined
up from around the world. Initial plans are to begin as a quarterly
publication expanding to bi-monthly in 2002.
Finding a niche in the crowded MG publication landscape will be a challenge,
but the clear focus of spotlighting the North American MG enthusiasts and
very active club scene is unique. Clearly, had MG Magazine not had all
their problems over the past few years they would have had an excellent
chance to succeed.
Backed by our record and past success in producing quality British marque
magazines, we have already received the support of the advertiser community.
Now we need to prove ourselves and the Classic MG Magazine concept to
enthusiasts in North America. Stay tuned!
