They had to make toom for whatever that is hanging down between the front wheels. Oil pan? Exhaust? I stuffed a 302 into a '62 Ford Falcon Ranchero PU once. Had to use coil-over shocks in the front to raise the ride height back up. But the owner sez in the ad that it was professionally engineered to get the weight distribution correct. Riiiiggghhht!
