Well, then this is one of the first things you need to do. Ramps and stands
are really pretty cheap at any of the chain auto parts places. After I got
the car I spent along time under the car (on four ramps set opposite to
each other). It helped me learn alot about the car, like where the grounds
are and where the oil is coming from. I now have a jack, four ramps, and
four stands to give me flexibility.

I got a copy of Burgess's 'power tuning for MGB's' (or something like
that). I had very little knowledge going into this but the book was very
helpfull for me deciding exactly how I wanted my engine to 'B'. The book
also has sections on the rest of the cars systems. It is a relatively cheap
book and I refer back to it frequently.
