Sway Bar Clamps

I put in my 3/4" front sway bar today in the BV8, and
noticed that the stock sway bar had two retaining
clamps to the inside of the bushings on each side.  My
3/4" bar didn't come with these "clamps".  Are they
necessary on the uprated bar?
