Hi folks,
Just back from a week of motoring around Nova Scotia and P.E.I. (Bet you
didn't even miss me.) As a present thread says, 'This list is great'. Last
Monday evening I attended the weekly get together of BATANS (British Automobile
Touring Association of Nova Scotia). Made the contact through the list,
naturally, thanks to Andy Proudfoot and Mark Jones.
About a dozen members showed up in a variety of gorgeous lbc's. (Is a
Jaguar an lbc?) Perhaps the most striking car of the lot was a 1962 Sunbeam
Talbot, owned for a whole bunch of years by Bob Hamilton. It is a fantastic
example of what good maintenance can do. He specializes in Talbots and
Alpines. I have his address if anyone is interested. BATANS really lives up to
its name as a touring group. Recent trips include Cape Cod and Newfoundland.
Great bunch of folks.
BTW, if anyone's interested in a beautiful, very well restored 51 TD, Bob
Gray of BATANS is selling one for $12,000US ($18,000CD). I have contact
information and photo. Usual disclaimers apply.
Now to finish reading/deleting the 439 posts since last Saturday.
