I did change my water pump pulley to the larger later one to
try and improve my problem with overheating. I'll let folks
know if it seems to work.
I was a bit surprised at how much Dave at BMS gets for the pulley,
but then a lot of Vintage racers have been showing up looking for
them. I think that he is getting $45 for it. I've spent so much
money on the B the past few weeks, I don't really remember how much
which shopping trip cost.
I did have some problems sizing fan belts. After 3 tries I have one
that seems to work. My first one, based on measuring a rope was
a "358" and was just exactly too short. Note, when sizing a fan
belt with a rope, chose a size that is just long enough to fit over
the pulley, rather than one that will fit perfectly, if you could
put things together with the belt in place.
I replaced it with one that had a part number 5375, so I assume that the
size was "375", it said that it replace part number 792. This one was
just exactly too long. With my alternator at the limit of the brackets
motion, it was almost tight enough, with the belt new and unstretched.
I ended up with a "365" that seems to work just fine. I'm not
sure what these sizes mean, but they were on the belt measuring tool
at Kragen's.
I admit that I'm not entirely sure where the adjusting bracket that
I'm using came from, but I doubt that it has significantly more
range than any other adjusting bracket.
If anybody else tries this conversion, I hope this saves you a trip to
the parts store.
By the way, I've got the new ported cylinder head on and it seems to
work OK. I didn't even touch my carbs before driving in and apart from
the idle being a little low and maybe rough, it doesn't seem too far
out of tune. I hope to dial it in at lunch.

The delays by the guy who does his heads are very frustrating, though
probably to be expected. Gary does give good service. It turns out that
he used to be a crew chief for an H-Prod frogeye, so he knows
Series A motors quite well.
