Tab: Years ago I had a Rambler and then an Ambassidor both with three on a tree and OD. I don't know how the OD functions in a B but in these cars I was able to: 1) Use 2nd OD instead of third and eliminate the extra clutch and shift when driving in traffic. 2) 2nd OD was lower in overall ratio than 3rd thus allowing a different gear for pulling, going up hills, etc. 3) OD also worked in first if I got the car over 30 MPH. This allowed the same benefits as given in 1 and 2 above. Blake |
