cam shaft pitting

Good evening

Took out the cam shaft and couple of the cams are pitted.  This may be from 
rust, the enginer sat for 8 years.  Is this a serious problem?  Anyone have 
any recommendations as to how to fix this if it is a problem?

Thanks for all your advice on cranks, bearings, and removing obstinate 
distributors - all part of this engine rebuild I find myself in the middle 
of.
