1. Remove two set screws holding distributor clamp plate to the block (you
can remove the pinch bolt first and take the unit out of the clamp plate
first, if you like).
2. Remove the retaining screw and washer, which will allow you to remove the
distributor housing from the block.
3. Screw a long, 5/16" UNF bolt into the distributor driveshaft and use it
to pull the shaft out of the block.
Note: If your engine is an 18GB or later, turn the engine so the pistons are
halfway up the bores *before* removing the distributor driveshaft.
BTW, removing the unit complete with the clamp plate preserves the ignition
timing. Don't forget that the distributor neck is a weak point!
