Bob: Did you use any kind of valve seal on the guide? The small o ring seals that are supplied with the gasket set are designed to be placed on top of the valve keeper, to prevent pooled oil from sliding down the valve stem. Factory valve guide clearances may be too tight if an additional seal is used at the top of the guide. Most of the British Sports Cars did not have a seal at the top of the guide. Installing one could cause a sticky valve, if factory clearances are used. Kelvin. |
