If you're going to work on the wiring:
Don't remove the dash.
Have all switches removed (the ones which go easily - leave the lights,
rheostat, heater fan in.
Remove all heater turn knobs.
Remove all dials.
This will give enough room to have the wiring loom removed and to work on.
Before doing anything: remove your battery connections!
