Gentlemen, and Ladies,
To take the easy way out, thanks to all who offered their input on my
question regarding wire wheel conversion. There were so many responses it
would take several hours to author a note to each. I apologize for my
laziness. I have saved most in a folder I've made for such notes.
This board is dynamite for such things; i.e., I had no idea the axles were of
different lengths on WW's versus DW's (I also learned what a "DW" is), or
other points brought up.
To keep my note short, once again my thanks. I only hope to be able to
contribute as worthy comments in the very near future.
For those who asked, the car is (and always has been as far as I know) red.
The body and undercarriage are in great shape with minor repair needed. It
is 100% original from the pictures, even to the steering wheel. Minor
things, like the turn signal, need replacement and, oh yeah, it's not
running. Small details. I couldn't be happier about it. Even at 51, I get
very excited about the car - to the exclusion of my wife's SUV or other
material stuff.
An MG is not a car, it's a state of mind.
