This thread reminds me of the story in Moss Motoring a while back 
about one guy's greatest mistakes in LBC ownership.  One of them was 
thinking that, for stiffer shocks, heavier oil was the thing to do. 
If I remember right, he tried gear oil, and promptly blew the shock 
up.
