Hi James,

  Ask the guy if he ever tried it.  He obviously hasn't.  I knew a guy
who ran a sport car shop, had been the the BL MG school.  He and a
helper would pull the engine off the tranny, not quite all the way out
of the car, to do a clutch job.  The trick was in getting it all stabbed
back together.
