It strikes me that car designers often have change for change's sake-one
starts it and the others follow...baaaa!
In my automotive lifetime, we've had...
Baroque: Farina Austin/Morris-subdued, finny styling, a la US.
Simple Classic: B & BGT, Alfa Spider, Fiat Coupe.
Butch: TR6, E-Type (butch and curvy).
Getting Square: Cortina, Granada, Viva, Scimitar.
Square: Cortina, Granada.
Wedgy: TR7, TVR Tasmin.
Getting Curvy: Sierra, late Fiesta.
Curvy: Ford Ka, Just about everything else.
Interesting point: look at things like stereo systems, 'phones, fridges. Can
*you* see similarities?
