About a month ago I noticed a loud clattering noise most pronounced from the front of the engine. It is loudest at 3500rpm and disappears at 4000rpm. I disconnected the fan belt and noticed the pulley was a little wobbly so I tightened it. The noise persisted even with the belt off so I believe I 've ruled out the water pump. Could a rocker make that much noise? It's been 4 years since they been adjusted. Would it only be at certain rpm? All help appreciated! Roger Columbus, Ohio 51 TD |
