I remember being told (or reading) that one screws the plug in until the gasket is toght aganst the head (not but not compressed), then give the plug a 1/4 turn to compress the gasket. This only works on brand-new plugs, though! Any comments on this? Having fitted plugs into aluminium heads, I would think one would have to be over-tightening rather drastically to strip the threads.
