I assume you are talking about DCOEs or a DGV series
or dual ZS's?

If it is refering to playing with the fuel/air ratio adjusting screws
on a DCOE, nearest the manifold on top of the carb.
If you have the proper 'fixed' idle jet selected, this screw
will be approximately 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 turns out from fully seated.

1)You set the idle speed as appropriate with the idle speed
screw on the side of the carb

2) play with these two fuel mixture screws to get the maximum rpm
and smoothest idle.

3)re-adjust the idle speed setting on the side of the carb
as appropriate to correct the idle speed.

repeat steps 1-3 as required.
