Keep in mind that there's a difference between what an enthusiast will pay
for a particular car and what the "official" value of the car is worth. How
in the world can one company create a book value for every car ever made?
They can't possibly be experts on everything.
It sounds like they are just catching up to the classic car pricing before
the great devaluation of the '80's. Prices were much higher before everybody
came to their senses. NADA reflects this, only two decades late.
Now, baseball cards are actually worth thousands of dollars, and you don't
have to worry about rust or worn valves. :-)
